A Bookworm NOT in Paris: Masks, Disney and Hamilton

Hi all my Bookworms!

My name is Chiara and I am a Bookworm.

How are you all?

Happy Monday, everyone.

How do you all feel about Mondays? Are they the nightmare that everyone thinks they are, or are they what you make of them?

I think they are what you make of them, be positive and the day will be positive.

A lot of changes are happening in the world at the moment with the easing of lockdown and I have to say that I love the rule the government has brought in that you have to wear a mask in a shop.

The past few weeks as I’ve been easing in to going out into the world I have been really enjoyed by all the people who don’t keep a two metre distance or who won’t wait for people to move on a just barge past. I know it’s only been a few days but I seriously hope it makes a difference.

We currently have a growing pile of re-useable masks on our hall shelf. You pick one up and put it on as you go out the door and when you get back you take off your mask and put it by the washer before washing your hands. Such a simple routine.

I’ve spent at least one day in the past week writing up all the reviews that I have got behind on. There were four in one day so the next few weeks have got their reviews all written … hopefully. I’m sure there is at least one blog tour I’m forgetting about in the next few weeks that I haven’t read the book for yet, but I’m sure I’ll read them in time. I hope!

Since last week I have finished all the available episode of Grey’s Anatomy and I’m desperate to watch something new. I haven’t been able to find a tv series I want to watch so instead I have been making my way through Disney films. Currently I’ve watched Beauty and the Beast (live action), Cinderella (live action), Tangled and Mulan. It seems to work because I’m able to forget about the picture and just hum along to the music and keep writing.

I’m still very tempted to go back and watch Greys all the way from the beginning.

Speaking of Disney, though. I’m sure that most of you are aware that Hamilton was recently released on Disney+ and I have finally managed to watch it all the way through. I started it on the day it came out, but I didn’t get a chance to finish it and I really wanted to watch it, start to finish, in one sitting so I restarted it and restarted it until I didn’t get interrupted and I was able to watch it all in one sitting. I loved it. It was amazing! I don’t think I’ll ever get the chance to see a live show in the West End or on Broadway but this is a pretty good replacement.

Ever since that first watch I have been humming and muttering sections of songs as I do anything. My YouTube feed is filled with Hamilton videos on YouTube and my brother is officially fed up with me. (He isn’t the biggest fan of musicals).

I think that maybe all I have to tell you for this week.

I hope your week goes and well, and until next time, happy reading!
